Our Prayer For You, A Prayer For You, My Prayer For You Today

“The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
The mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

The first part of this prayer is taken from Isaiah 55:12 (NIV). It’s certainly one of my favorite verses.

We will go out in joy, and God will lead us forth in peace – And can you imagine mountains and hills bursting into song before us? Our problems, troubles, mountains, hills, singing before us…. And even the trees of the field will join us in clapping their hands.

What this verse speaks to me is that everything and everyone that comes before us will see the joy of the Lord in us.  And because of the joy and the God that is seen in us, even things, people, situations that we thought could never be moved,  will rejoice, and clap their hands! Amen (eg who ever knew a tree could clap? Or mountains could sing?).

Mountains will sing, Hills will sing, Trees will clap… We will always go out in unspeakable joy; Joy and peace that passes all understanding. The Joy of the Lord will ever be our strength.

The second part of this prayer is inspired by one of my favorite songs, called  Counting on God, (i.e. Trusting God),  By Desperation Band. The chorus goes like this:

“Joy unspeakable that won’t go away
And just enough strength to live for today
So I never have to worry
What tomorrow will bring
‘Cause my faith is on solid rock
I am counting on God
I am counting on
I am counting on God”
This song has become my anthem :)!

The final part of this prayer is from the following verses :
Numbers 6: 24 -26 “The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” (NKJV)
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV)
Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
