While we wait for Jesus to return – We were made for more!

While we wait for Jesus to return – We were made for more!
“While we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” ~ Titus 2:13, NIV

While we wait for Jesus’ return ~ 11/16/16
I listened to Jamie Grace’s song The Waiting yesterday, and I was deeply moved as my heart spoke those words to God. I am not sure what Jamie had in mind when she wrote and sang this powerfully beautiful song, but all I could think of as I sang along was heaven.

I so thankful for all God has done, and all that God continues to do in my life and in the lives of my loved ones. I am beyond thankful for God’s provision ; God’s protection ; God’s goodness ; and God’s faithfulness. I am beyond thankful for God’s unfailing & unconditional love for us. I am beyond thankful for my dear family and friends – abundant love and joy and goodness surround me on all sides! I am extremely thankful for good health and peace of mind. I am so very thankful for the hope I have in Jesus, and for my growing relationship with God. Counting blessings would take forever ~ I am thankful!

Yes, I am no doubt truly blessed, but there is a deep longing in my heart for more. As I listened to the song yesterday, I cried out to God. I I know deep down that this longing will never be fully satisfied until we get to heaven. But right now, right here on earth, I want the next best thing. I want God’s recognizable presence right here. I know God is everywhere. I know that God is with us always. I certainly know that God is always with me. But I want God’s unmistakable active presence in my life all of the time. I want to see Jesus 24/7. I want to have an intimate relationship with God – like Adam and Eve had before the fall. I want to be pure in heart. I want to be perfect. I want to walk with God and talk with God and laugh with God and cry with God. I don’t want to bestow inordinate affections on silly things that will soon fade away. I want more! As I sang these words, I cried, I prayed, and I felt peace in my heart. Somehow, I know this desire is right and true. Somehow, I know God has placed this longing in my heart for more.

The above happened yesterday. Fast forward to this morning, this was the first scripture I came across:
Ecclesiastes 3:11a, NLT Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart…

Ah. It all makes perfect sense. 🙂 Truly, we were made for more! God has planted this longing for eternity in our hearts while we wait. We were made for more!!!

It also brought to mind the following scriptures:
Philippians 1:21, ESV For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (win win, by God’s grace!)
Psalm 16:11, ESV You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Matthew 5:8, ESV Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Matthew 6:33, ESV But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Philippians 3:14, ESV I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. See also: This world is not my home – Heaven is my home! ; & Heavenly Family Reunion

Our ultimate “prize” is eternal fellowship with God. While we wait for Jesus’ return; While we wait for Heaven; While we wait for Eternal Life… I am asking God for the next best thing. I am praying that God will open our eyes to see Jesus! Purify our hearts Lord. Help us get our priorities right. Open our eyes Lord, and Open our hearts. We want more and more of you! I am praying for heaven on earth. I am praying that we will actively walk with God and talk with God. I am praying that we will be good and faithful servants of God. I pray that God’s unmistakable presence will always be with us! Open Eyes, Open Hearts

Exodus 33:15, NIV Then Moses said to him, If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

While we wait for Jesus – Open our eyes Lord! Help us to always remember that we were made for more!
And as we look forward to heaven, as we dream of our glorious future… I pray and trust that God will help us to always live in the present! May we bring honor to God every day of our lives! May we always be aware of God’s unmistakable and active presence in our lives. May the radiance of God’s presence shine bright and draw others into God’s Kingdom! May we experience the glory of “heaven on earth” – May we continually experience Jesus! May we continually enjoy all of God’s wonderful blessings in life; and May we constantly demonstrate blessing others as we are blessed!

Ephesians 1:10, NLT And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ – everything in heaven and on earth.
Ecclesiastes 3:11-12, NLT Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. Bible Verses about Living in the Present ; One step at a time with God
Jude 1:20-21, NLT But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. (Amen!)
