Dear Friends, I am asking myself a few questions today:
What do I really want in life? What do I really want from my life?
Is my ultimate measure of success loads and loads of money in the bank, or knowing that I have tried my very best to be obedient and faithful to God?
What makes me happy in life? What truly brings me joy and fulfillment? Is it acquiring more and more stuff? Or is it in sharing love and life with others, starting with my own family and friends?
Looking ahead, I am wondering:
What would bring me the greatest satisfaction in life at the end of the day – knowing that I have completely maximized my income potential, or knowing that I have completely become who God created me to be? That I have loved others deeply and have been loved deeply by others?
Is it knowing that I have made as much money as I could possibly make on this earth, or knowing that I have faithfully accomplished what God put me on this earth to do? And as a bonus, I have enjoyed loving, priceless & impactful relationships: laughter and wonderful memories with loved ones?
How badly do I want to hear the words “Well done, good and faithful servant”?
How much do I trust that God’s got my back?
How thankful am I for these precious and priceless gifts He has blessed me with?
What do I really want in life? What do you really want in life?
Am I really truly willing to seek God first in all things?
Am I really willing to trust and obey?
Am I really willing to be content wherever God leads?
Am I really willing to do my best and let God do the rest?
Matthew 6:33, NLT Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Mark 8:36, NLT What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Psalm 49:17, NLT For when they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.
Psalm 103:2, NLT Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
Dear Lord, please grant me wisdom so that I can excel as the person you created me to be. Help me to get my priorities right! Help me to seek God’s approval in all that I do, always remembering that I can never go wrong when I go God’s way! Help me to work hard and work smart, always knowing that you will provide for my needs and for the needs of my loved ones. Please help me to grow in character and wisdom every day, to the glory of your name! Help me to be more like you every day! Help me to be a continual source of practical love and encouragement to people all around me, starting with my own family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
