The Power To Overcome Sin: Leaning Into GRACE.

Grace, the Power to Overcome Sin – Key Verse:
“For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” ~ Romans 6:14, NIV

Dear Friends, I am being reminded that overcoming sin is not about trying harder not to sin, it’s about leaning harder into Grace. The power to overcome sin is all about relying on the help of the Holy Spirit… through God’s Grace. Related: Deeper understanding of God’s Grace

Today, I am reminded that:
Grace gives us access to the power of God’s love.
Grace gives us power to overcome sin.

Grace is not timid or passive;
Grace is not an excuse to sin.

On the contrary, Grace is the power to overcome sin!
Not by “trying harder”, but by leaning harder into Grace!

Titus 2:11-13, NIV For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

Friends, “the law of sin and death” is still in operation on this earth, constantly trying to pull us down. However, because of GRACE, we have the power to overcome sin and death. Through the wonderful GRACE of GOD, we are no longer subject to the law of sin and death – we continually lean into GRACE for the POWER to OVERCOME SIN. Praise God!

Romans 8:1-2, ESV There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Romans 5:21, NLT So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
