Dear Friends, I am once again reminded about the power of words we speak (and write!), or more specifically, the power of an encouraging word.

Yesterday, I was doing some cleaning and sorting when I came across something my 12 year old had written in school 2 months ago. I had not previously seen this note because it was just a little exercise he had done in class, it was not a graded test or assignment.

Oh my goodness. It made me so emotional, it was oh so encouraging! After this discovery, I went upstairs to our bedroom, lay down on the bed and read it again and again, crying happy tears lol.

Here it is:

My boys are both very kind and encouraging to us, and they regularly inspire us with words of encouragement. But friends, I had absolutely no idea my 12 year old had all these specific thoughts about me in his head! I was SO encouraged! I had a BOOST of ENERGY and I was motivated to consistently be EVERYTHING he had written about me!

I thought to myself, WOW, he really thinks all this of me? Then I want to prove him RIGHT! I want to always be this person he described: A woman of integrity who is hardworking, who never lies, who is trustworthy, and who constantly supports and helps her family. Even when she doesn’t like cleaning! LOL!

Dear Friends, that is the power of an encouraging word! That is the power of affirmation! That is the power of encouraging one another and building each other up!

The Power Of An Encouraging Word Is Immeasurable!

Dear Friends, Encouraging words are POWERFUL!
Encouraging words cheer you up and lift you up!
Encouraging words help you want to DO EVEN BETTER!
Encouraging words give you hope and make you believe you can do or be anything!

Prayer
Dear Lord, please let us always remember that our words are very powerful! Please help us to use words that will encourage others and build them up, not words that will discourage and tear people down! Please help us to always think before we speak! Please help us to always speak words that will honor & glorify God! May we always remember the power of an encouraging word! Help us not to hold back, but to reach out and speak out! Dear Lord, please help us consistently speak words of encouragement to our children, spouses, parents, family and friends, neighbors, co-workers, church members, brothers and sisters in Christ, and to everyone we come in contact with! Please help us to speak words of life, not death! Please help us to continually be a shining light to others! May your name always be glorified in us!
