Testimonies of Healing and Deliverance ~ A Post Abortion Testimony of God’s Deliverance; God’s Healing; and God’s Restoration

Psalm 107:19-21, ESV Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!

The following testimony is from my friend, and is shared with her permission. Due to the sensitive nature of this after abortion testimony, I have used a pseudo name.

Kimberly and her siblings had been raised as Christians (Kimberly’s Dad was a Pastor), and Kimberly was 17 when she and her family moved to a new city. Kim looked and acted like a typical teenager on the outside, but she had lots of issues on the inside.

By the time she turned 20, Kim had aborted 3 pregnancies. After aborting the 3rd pregnancy, she became a mess. She was overcome with guilt, and started hearing voices in her head, constantly telling her: “You’re worthless – God will never forgive you! If your family knew what you did, they would be so ashamed. You killed 3 babies! The babies are crying out, and the best thing you can do for your family is to kill yourself!”

The voices were very demanding, and she couldn’t get away from them. She became extremely depressed and lost a ton of weight, dropping to only 89 lbs. Her parents had no idea what was wrong with her. They took her to all kinds of doctors and nobody could figure out why she was so depressed, and why she kept losing so much weight. She even tried killing herself by jumping in front of a train, but her mom was able to hold her down.

Distraught, Kimberly’s parents checked her into a mental hospital. She was released early because she knew the right things to say, and successfully faked being better. For the next 3 years, every day was a nightmare as the voices suggested new ways for her to kill herself.

One day, Kimberly stepped into a church in her local area. She sat way in the back and as the pastor gave the altar call, she felt this extreme warmth all over her. She opened her eyes and found herself at the altar, at the front of the church (even now, she still has no idea how she got to the front of the church that day!). The warmth became even more intense. The pastor didn’t know her story, but he prayed a general “altar call prayer” with her.

For the first time in 3 years, the voices were gone! All she felt was warmth and peace. After the prayers, she stepped out of the church and headed home, wondering when the voices would come back. She arrived home to find her apartment very messy; she previously had no idea how messy her apartment was. It was as though her eyes had been opened for the first time in years. She saw things all around her she had never noticed before. She cried tears of joy, and started cleaning her place.

Kimberly prayed, thanking God, and then she asked God to forgive her. She heard a voice gently saying: “I already forgave you.”

Kimberly never heard the demanding voices again, her mind was clear, and she felt peace! “I wasn’t healed of a broken leg or arm,” Kimberly said. “God healed my entire mind, body and spirit.” Thank you Lord! Praise God for the blessings of Healing and Deliverance and Restoration!
