Quick To Listen, Slow To Speak, Slow To Become Angry: A Short Sermon and Commentary.
Key Verse:
James 1:19, NIV My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

It’s been said that God gave us two ears and one mouth because He wants us to listen twice as much as we speak. 🙂 Such wisdom, and such a great reminder!
Quick to listen.
Slow to speak.
Slow to become angry…
Dear Friends,
When we make a habit of listening much more than we speak, we give ourselves a much better chance of understanding a situation rather than jumping to conclusions.
When we make a habit of listening much more than we speak, we give ourselves a much better chance of speaking with wisdom, kindness, encouragement and clarity, rather than saying the first thing that comes to our mouths.
When we make a habit of listening much more than we speak, we give ourselves a solid chance of hearing God’s voice.
*May we always remember that silence is not weakness.
*May we always remember that “answering before listening is both stupid and rude.” (Proverbs 18:13, MSG)
*May we always remember that “a person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.” (Proverbs 19:11, NIV)
***May we all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.***
So help us God.
