Good Morning, Dear Friends! 🙂

I walked into a store yesterday because I needed to grab something real quick. Stood in line to check out and a gentleman walks in behind, he also got in line. I looked back and saw his face – He was very very handsome! lol. He had such a pleasant, handsome and mature looking face, plus a whitish beard and mustache. 🙂

I am usually very quick to compliment ladies when they look good or if I like an outfit they are wearing or whatever, but I typically don’t compliment men – even though I definitely recognize and appreciate them too! 🙂 I usually just smile and say hello – don’t want anyone getting the wrong impression!

But in this case, I just felt compelled to tell him! We were socially distanced so he wasn’t right behind me.. but I said to him, “You’re a very handsome man! I’m not hitting on you, I am happily married lol, but I just wanted to let you know that you’re very handsome!” 🙂

He started laughing, and you could see he was so happy! We all had a good laugh, all the other customers in line were smiling as well! It was so delightful to look around and see all the smiling faces, a result of our happy little banter! 😀 He responded telling us all that he is an “old man”, that he is almost 60 years old! And he said “Thank you sister, Thank you so much!” lol! Even the cashier checking me out was chuckling… he joined along in the fun saying “Oh yes, he is very handsome! I’m so glad my wife doesn’t work here!” LOL.

I paid the cashier and started to head back to my car. With a smile on his face, the man called out to me as I left – “Have a wonderful day sister!” I responded with a smile saying Thank you! You tooo! I was so happy to have had the opportunity to put a smile on his face, on other people’s faces, and on my face as well! It was great to enjoy some lighthearted fun with total strangers, it was fun to share laughter with others especially in this season we are in! Even now as I type, my mouth is curled up in a great big smile! 🙂

This entire interaction was just a beautiful reminder that a very small act of kindness can transform the atmosphere and have many positive ripple effects on us and on others around us too! I shared what happened with my sister, and she reminded me that a kind word makes the heart merry! She also reminded me that we often underestimate the impact of a kind word, and that this man probably had an extra bounce in his step as he went about the rest of his day. 🙂
