It Is Easier To Encourage Than To Be Encouraged. Keep On Encouraging One Another.
Good Morning Friends!
These words have been on my mind for the last week or two: It is easier to encourage than to be encouraged.
What do I mean when I say that it is easier to encourage than to be encouraged??
I have found that it is easier (at least for me, and I suspect for many others too) to encourage other people when they are going through adversity, times of trouble, or just feeling down. When it comes to encouraging yourself, you may know the scriptures and all the positive things that should help, but you may have to make an extra effort to let it sink in and really apply to your life.
You may have to read those scriptures, words, thoughts and prayers again and again. You may have to go to God in prayer to gain encouragement and strength again and again. You may have to recall everything again and again when you are feeling down or feeling discouraged.
You might even have to go back to what you have previously said or written to encourage others, now that it’s time to encourage yourself. And when other people encourage you with the same words that you have used to encourage others, it might sometimes feel like you are hearing those words for the first time; as you soak them in and find yourself being encouraged!
So my point is, if you have the opportunity to encourage someone today, please, do it! You don’t have to understand everything someone is going through in order to encourage them. You know what, you don’t have to know every detail of their trouble in order to encourage them. You don’t even have to wait for there to be evidence of trouble before you encourage someone! 🙂
Please, determine to be an encourager in your words and actions to others – in their presence and in their absence too. You can even encourage others in your private thoughts by praying for others when you think of them.
It is often easier to encourage others than to encourage oneself, so when we have the opportunity to encourage others, let’s do it cheerfully and consistently, praising God for the opportunity to lift up another. So help us God, Amen.
As a bonus, we will find that when we encourage others, we ourselves will be encouraged!:) A reminder that when we help others, we help ourselves. So help us God, Amen.

Have a wonderfully blessed, stress-free, productive, and joyful day!
