Is God trying to get your attention? Is God trying to tell you something?
Is God trying to get my attention? Is God trying to tell me something?
Is God trying to get our attention? Is God trying to tell us something?
Dear Friends: Today I am being reminded that God sometimes gets our attention by doing drastic things that will force us to PAY ATTENTION.
In 1 Kings 17, we read about how God provided Elijah with food in the midst of great want. God’s provision and God’s faithfulness were evident. Elijah had a brook to drink from daily, and he had enough food to eat, because God sent ravens to feed him morning and night.
And then the brook dried up. No more brook. No more ravens.
No more water. No more food!
God got Elijah’s attention – in this case, God wanted him to know that it was time to move on! So after the brook dried up, God told Elijah to go somewhere else, and once again, Elijah trusted God and obeyed His directions. Read More On: Moving On ; Obedience & Blessing
Friends, sometimes God will allow the brook to dry up.
Sometimes, God will allow the ravens to stop bringing food.
Sometimes, God will allow a previous source of income to dry up.
Before we assume this is an attack from the enemy, let us go to God in prayer, asking God with sincere and open hearts – What do you want, Lord? What is the next step you would like me to take? Where are you leading, Lord? I surrender all: I will trust in God at all times!
Sometimes, God doesn’t do anything drastic to get our attention. Sometimes, we get these persistent gentle nudges from the Holy Spirit, prompting us, leading us, guiding us. The more we practice paying attention to these gentle nudges, the more sensitive we will become when God is speaking to us and leading us in a certain direction. As always, God blesses our efforts to obey him!
Dear Friends, I pray that we will all be very sensitive to God’s leading and direction. I pray that God will grant us wisdom, favor and receptive hearts. I pray that God will help us to always trust and obey, and always follow where He leads us. See also: Wisdom comes from God alone.
Elijah knew that the same God who miraculously provided for him through the ravens, would continue to provide for him. I pray that whenever we face an unexpected turn of events, we will focus on remembering what God has done for us in the past. May we always remember that the same God who performed all those wonderful miracles in our lives in the past is still on our side.
Yes, God is for us! May we remember that God is still on the throne, and that God is with us always! Thank you Lord, for your mercies on us! Help us to continually practice Trusting God one day at a time! Help us to put our Confident Trust in you Lord!
Ephesians 1:17, NIV I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
Ephesians 1:18, NIV I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
Psalm 119:18, NLT Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions. (Amen!)
Ephesians 1:19-20, NLT I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 3:20-21, NLT Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
