I pray today’s words and scriptures are an inspiration and encouragement to us all.
How can harsh words break a person’s heart?
Dear Friends, Harsh words can truly break hearts and break the spirit.
Harsh words hurt people, Harsh words discourage people, Harsh words drain people, Harsh words de-energize people, Harsh words demoralize people, and Harsh words often push people away.
It doesn’t matter if we are talking to people older than us, people the same age as us, people slightly younger than us, or people much younger than us… Harsh words break hearts and break the spirit! 🙁
Harsh words can break the spirit of children.
Harsh words can break the spirit of a spouse.
Harsh words can break the spirit of friends.
Harsh words can break the spirit of family.
Harsh words can break the spirit of co-workers.
Harsh words can even break the spirit of plants and animals!
On the contrary, gentle words bring life and health.
When we speak gently, we bring life, peace, health and joy to a situation that might have being wrought with confusion, anxiety, turmoil and pain.
When we speak gently to our family and friends, our spouses and children, our co-workers or colleagues, our superiors and subordinates, our plants and our animals, we help bring out the best in them, by God’s grace.
When we speak gently and with a positive attitude, we infuse life, hope and energy all around us, and we shine the light of Jesus Christ everywhere we go.
May our words bring life, health, hope and light everywhere we go. ☀
And at times when we do get angry, may we be constructive and not destructive in our anger.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen. 🙏
