God will give you the Strength to Endure. God will give you the Strength to Overcome. Rejoice, & Do the Poopie Dance! :)

God will give you the Strength to Endure. God will give you the Strength to Overcome. Rejoice, & Do the Poopie Dance! 🙂
This story was originally written in the winter of 2008, when my husband and I were actively parenting a toddler and a preschooler. I am so very thankful for all the wonderful things that God continues to do in our lives. Today, I am once again reminded that God is with us always! Join me as I take a journey down memory lane, and be blessed! I pray this encourages you and puts a smile on your face. Enjoy! 🙂

Bible Verse of the Day
Psalm 31:7, ESV I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul,
Colossians 1:11-12, NLT We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.

Doing the Poopie Dance 😀
Hope everyone is doing well! Ok I just wanted to share this silly story with you. LOL. A few weeks ago, I came down with the flu. It hit me pretty hard and was just a really horrible time for me. Thankfully, my ever helpful hubby was in town when the flu was at its peak, and that made things so much easier. But then he had to go out of town for work for a few days and I had to deal with our Oga’s alone lol (“Oga” is the Yoruba word for “boss”). I felt extremely tired, sick, my voice was hoarse, my entire body ached, I had a splitting headache and yep, I was a little cranky. 🙁

It had been a long day and that evening, we were all just hanging out in the living room – me lying down on the couch and the boys playing. You can just imagine how loud it was. LOL. Then my preschooler had to go potty. No problem… As usual, I told him to let me know when he was done so I could come clean him up. He left to go to the bathroom. A few minutes later: “I’m done, Mommy”!!! I get up with what seems like the last little bit of strength I have left. I go to the bathroom, clean him up, flush… but this poopie refuses to go down!!! LOL. Toilet is blocked! I’m thinking aaargh, I don’t need this now, not tonight!!! I just want to lie down again before my head explodes!!!

My little guys hear me and rush to my side.. “What’s going on Mommy? Oh, it’s a big one Mommy!! It’s big and hard!!! Oooh!!!” (That’s my preschooler, that night’s big poopie maker lol) …and “Oooh poo-poo!! Oooh nasty!!” (That’s my toddler lol). No kidding, it was massive! LOL. You know, I’ve always wondered how something so big could come out of such a little body!!??!!. But that’s another story for another day! lol. So anyway I’m there trying to figure out the easiest and quickest way to get rid of the problem, with ongoing commentary from my Oga’s. They’re pulling my clothes, getting in my way, and being naturally curious about every step I took while I fixed it…. I’ll spare you the gory details 😉 lol

Poopie finally went down thank God lol, and then I had to clean the plunger and the toilet bowl. I wanted to clean the plunger while it was in the bowl first so that it would be super easy to finish cleaning afterward. So I made the toilet bowl water very soapy and started an up & down plunging motion, in a bid to clean the plunger as easily as possible. Hopefully you get the picture. It made a funny squishy sound and my little guys started laughing. And then my toddler started dancing!:)! And they both started going: “Up and down and up and down” and bouncing up and down while I was cleaning. I just burst out laughing… my crankiness went away. It was all so ridiculously funny, It’s hard to explain in writing how funny it was that night:)!lol. So we all started doing the Poopie Dance while chanting and cleaning!:)! LOL. It was so much fun and I felt so much better… Well my body still felt terrible but I honestly just felt sooo much better emotionally. 🙂
