Gentle words bring life and health.
Dear Friends, we were reminded yesterday that as children of God and agents of God’s love, we are called to speak words of life, not death. Today, we delve deeper by exploring the thought: “Gentle words bring life.”
If we want to be a source of life, we need to speak life.
If we want to speak life, we need to speak gentle words.

Please remember: Gentleness is not timidity. Gentleness is not weakness! Speaking gently does not mean we are doormats that allow people to walk all over us. Gentle words are a by-product of wisdom, strength, courage, humility, self control, and LOVE.
Dear Friends,
Gentle words turn away wrath (See Proverbs 15:1)
Gentle words bring life and health (See Proverbs 15:4)
Gentle words of encouragement are sweet to the soul! (See Proverbs 16:24)
So how do we speak gentle words that bring life?
1. By Thinking before speaking
James 1:19, NLT Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
2. By checking our motive: Are we speaking for another’s benefit or for our benefit alone?
Philippians 2:3-4, ESV Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
3. By Relying on God to help us speak words of life!
Ephesians 3:20, NLT “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (God is able Bible Scriptures)
