A Letter to My Grandma in Heaven.
My Dear Mama,
Your 94 year journey on earth has come to an end;
Your radiant smile is forever etched in my heart.

You were ever so joyful, ever so jubilant;
Fiercely strong, fiercely loyal, beautifully confident and brave.
You never held back, and you loved with every bit of your heart!

You were such a great example and role model to us all;
You were so helpful, kind and encouraging to my mom, your dear daughter in law.
You were so helpful, kind and encouraging to my dad, your dear son.

You were such a delightful Grandma to your many grandchildren…
We all have nothing but wonderful things to say about you!

Proverbs 22:1, NIV A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
Proverbs 10:7a, ESV The memory of the righteous is a blessing.

Mama, you loved God passionately:
You used every opportunity you had to share God’s love with others!

I remember when we tried to get you fitted with a hearing aid.
We researched, We organized, We fussed over you…
We got an Audiologist to come over to your home.
You refused the hearing aids, but instead lovingly and passionately shared God’s great love with this man. He left your home with a smile on his face! 🙂

Mama, we learned about Philip and his four daughters from you!
You encouraged me and my 5 sisters to be like the daughters of Philip.
They were faithful in their love and in their service to God and man, and they prophesied!

You always encouraged us to make Jesus our priority, to read our Bibles and pray everyday.
You always encouraged us to get to know God personally, to trust God with all of our hearts, and to serve God with all of our hearts.

Mama, I still cannot believe you are gone!
I am happy and sad, excited and in tears, all at the same time!
I am happy you lived a long, happy, healthy, and fruitful life!
I am happy because of the wonderful legacy you are leaving!
I am happy and oh-so-excited that you are in heaven!
I keep imagining you smiling, singing and dancing with the angels in heaven!

I am sad that you are gone from this earth,
But I rejoice because by God’s grace, we will eventually have a heavenly family reunion!

Till we meet again at the feet of Jesus! Amen.
