15 Powerful Bible Verses about Praying for Others – Encouraging Scriptures

8. Pray for unity among believers
Romans 15:5-7, NIV May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

9. Pray for those who are being persecuted, oppressed or mistreated
Galatians 6:2, ESV Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Proverbs 31:8, NIV Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.

10. Pray for unbelievers to come to the knowledge of Christ
Romans 10:10, NASB …my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.
2 Peter 3:9, ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

11. Pray for those in prison
Hebrews 13:3, ESV Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

12. Pray for those who are waiting on God
Isaiah 40:31, ESV But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

13. Pray for those who are angry at God
Psalm 13:1, ESV How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? (See next verse for more on how to pray)

14. Pray as you are led by the Holy Spirit
Romans 8:26-27, ESV Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

15. Pray for those God puts on your mind
Pray continually for anything and everything, as God leads you daily!
Ephesians 6:18, NIV And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Amen)
