About Bomi Jolly, and How JollyNotes.com was born:

Tell us a little bit about you.
I live in Michigan, USA with my husband and our 2 young men. 🙂 I am also surrounded by my wonderful extended family and friends, far and near. I am very blessed to know that I am a child of God. I am also very blessed to have the opportunity to learn something new every day. I absolutely love reading, writing, getting to know people, hanging out, sunshine and all the goodies that come with it, music, movies, making a positive difference, simple pleasures like eating too much corn, movie nights with my husband, movie and game nights with my family, and being silly! 🙂

What Inspired Jolly Notes?
I have always loved writing, and it’s especially encouraging to find out something I wrote has had a positive effect on a reader. I started writing online after joining Facebook, and people’s responses to my articles were very positive and encouraging. I was regularly told how much the articles had inspired them; sometimes in ways I had never imagined. Not only were the comments touching, they also provided insights and experiences that all readers could learn from. The articles became such a great way for us all to share and encourage each other regularly.

I was continually encouraged by friends and family to start writing on a publicly available website, with the hope that people who were not currently my Facebook friends would have access to the notes as well. I prayed about it and felt led in this direction… and that’s how the seed was first planted.

At what point did you know you wanted to have this kind of blog & what sacrifices have you made?
I had heard about yet another tragic story of a man who had killed himself, his wife and their five children after losing his job. He and his wife were up to their necks in bills, and they had felt really desperate and abandoned by friends and family. I was heartbroken! I knew from my experiences and those of others, that sometimes all a person needs to make it through another day, to get up, keep on hoping, and keep on living, is an encouraging word. Being inspired to see things from a different perspective. Or just knowing someone cares, that you are not alone. I knew at that point that I certainly wanted to play my part, by God’s grace, in encouraging, inspiring and motivating as many people as possible, not just people I know personally.

My final push came when I felt like God was saying to me: “If you don’t do what I have called you to do, I will find somebody else to do it!” That really woke me up from any hesitation or doubt I may have previously had!

So on November 9, 2009, JollyNotes.com was prayerfully, gratefully, and happily born! (See also: Quick to Obey God!)

Some lessons learned on this journey:
I have learned that God can use anyone and anything to get a message across. God is no respecter of persons, age, status or position. I have also been reminded so many times, how much God cares about us and how far He will go to draw us closer to Him. Finally, to quote my friend Deborah – “Where God’s finger points, his hand will make a way.” No exceptions! Absolutely, When God calls, he also equips!

I have also learned that we should never let others define or determine what “success” is for us.
As children of God, we are truly successful when we live our lives in obedience to God.
May we always remember to Focus. Be Disciplined. Get up after we fall. Not be too hard on ourselves. May we all remember to surround ourselves with people and things that will encourage, motivate and inspire us. Finally, may we remember to dance as we go through life.

Dear Friends, Life is short. Don’t forget to enjoy it! 🙂
Bible Verses about Success, Succeeding, Success in Life

One thing I know for sure…
God is real and His love for us is greater than what we can even fathom. There are so many things in life that seem to throw me in a loop sometimes. Questions I have. Some things don’t seem to make any sense. But one thing I know for sure – God is real, and His love is real. God’s love is wonderful, and it’s always available to you! I can testify.

Bible Verses when you don’t understand, when life doesn’t make sense

Some Bible Verses I always want to remember, by God’s grace:
***
1. 1 Corinthians 16:14, NIV Do everything in love.

2. Ephesians 5:1-2, NIV Be imitators of God, therefore… and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3. Matthew 20:25-28, NLT Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. (We are saved to serve!)

In summary…
My priority will always be to please God, serve God, and to joyfully, cheerfully, and gratefully extend God’s wonderful love to others, by God’s grace, and as God leads. God has blessed me so much, I want to continually and consistently share the love and joy of God, and always be a blessing, inspiration and encouragement to others… Amen! I plan to update the website with lots of inspirational and encouraging goodies (e.g. notes, verses, thoughts, quotes, songs, videos, poems, words, life tips, etc) very frequently, by God’s grace. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
