Danger #2: Arguments, Conflict, SIN
When we think about it, we will see that all conflict and sin can be traced back to one common ugly root – pride!

Prov 13:10, NCV Pride only leads to arguments, but those who take advice are wise.
Danger #3: Not Knowing God (Being separated from God)
Pride is extremely dangerous because it separates us from God, since it is the source of sin and conflict. If we want to have a relationship with God, grow in God and be used by God, we absolutely have to be humble – so help us God!
Isaiah 66:2b, ESV …But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.
Danger #4: Disgrace
Proverbs 11:2, NIV When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Danger #5: Putting our Trust in “Stuff”
Proverbs 11:28, ESV Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.
Danger #6: Dangers of Spiritual Pride – Idolatry
1 John 5:21, NLT Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.
Danger #7: Dangers of Spiritual Pride – Feeling Infallible
Obadiah 1:3, ESV The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rock, in your lofty dwelling, who say in your heart, “Who will bring me down to the ground?”
Danger #8: Dangers of Spiritual Pride – Self Righteousness
Luke 18:9-14, ESV He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Danger #10: Humiliation
Luke 14:8-11, ESV When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Danger #11: Not Pleasing God (God hates Pride)
James 4:6b, ESV … God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Proverbs 6:16-19, NIV There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
