Are you ready to receive from God?

I have been trusting God for direction in certain areas of my life. A few days ago, I specifically asked: “What is the next step Lord?”

Almost immediately, I felt like God asked me: “Are you really ready to receive the next step? Do you have the following things in place?” Are you ready to receive? I became very alert to some things that I had been putting off, and how those things, even though they seemed very basic and and did not seem at all spiritual, could actually seriously prevent me from moving forward.

I didn’t have to think on it for too long. I knew the answer was NO, I was not ready. It was crystal clear… Even if God gave me the next steps NOW, I would not really be able to act on them.

I felt like God showed me very clearly, that I needed to take care of certain things first, before He could show me the next steps I so eagerly wanted to know. I quickly realized that while I was waiting on God, God was actually waiting on me! Yikes.

I felt a sense of peace and deep gratitude to God as I took that first step that day. I am still working on it, and by God’s grace, I am expectant. By God’s grace, I will keep on trusting God one day at a time. By God’s grace, I will obey as He leads. By God’s grace, I will do my part and let God do HIS.

Is your heart ready for God, or are you distracted by a million things?

Are you ready to receive from God?
Are you exhausted practically every day – constantly burning the candle at both ends? Are you hurried day in day out, never having a moment of quiet to receive from God? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you getting enough mental rest? Are you prioritizing your time and commitments?

Are you ready to receive from God?
Are you dealing with physical or/& emotional clutter? Do you have “stuff” you’re still holding on to that you need to get rid of? Is there junk filling up your physical space? Is there junk filling up your spirit and mind? Are you holding on to bitterness, anger and resentment? Friends, Are you ready?

Prayer
Dear Lord, we want to receive from you. We want to be ready! As we take these important steps of preparing ourselves and our hearts to receive from you, we ask and trust that you will help us every step of the way. Thank you Lord for teaching us and reteaching us! Thank you Lord for your mercy! Thank you Lord for your grace! Thank you Lord for your goodness to us! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
