The Parable of The Lamp Under The Basket, The Parable of The Lamp on a Stand, The Parable of The Lamp on a Lampstand

Find below The Parable of The Lamp Under The Basket, The Parable of The Lamp on a Stand, and The Parable of The Lamp on a Lampstand. These 3 parables are slight variations of the same parable, and they all teach the same lesson.

We are reminded that we are representatives of Jesus, so we must by God’s grace live out our lives honoring and glorifying God. We must always remember that what we do is visible for others to see – even when we don’t realize it! May we always act accordingly, consistently “letting our light shine”! Amen.

The Parable of The Lamp Under The Basket
Matthew 5:14-16 (NASB)
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

The Parable of The Lamp on a Stand
Luke 8:16-17 (NIV)
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”

The Parable of The Lamp on a Lampstand
Luke 11:33-36 (AMP)
“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or crypt or under a bushel measure, but on a lampstand, that those who are coming in may see the light.

Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye (your conscience) is sound and fulfilling its office, your whole body is full of light; but when it is not sound and is not fulfilling its office, your body is full of darkness. Be careful, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness. If then your entire body is illuminated, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright [with light], as when a lamp with its bright rays gives you light.”
