5 Bible Verses about Respecting Others

1. Show Respect to Everyone
1 Peter 2:17, ESV Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

2. Take Delight in Honoring Others
Romans 12:10, NLT Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

3. Showing Respect when it’s undeserved
We should show respect to everyone, with God’s help. Not just people we agree with. Not just people who are respectful. Not just people who are kind.

Luke 6:31 -36, NIV Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

4. Showing Respect as a Representative of Jesus
We are representatives of Jesus in all that we say and do. May we always be a shining light to others!
Matthew 5:16, ESV In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Colossians 3:17, NLT And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

5. Be Respectful: Just do it. So help us God, Amen.
Romans 13:7, ESV Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
