The greatest command is to love – Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

If we truly love God then we will obey the second – ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

I can testify to the Random Act of Kindness from strangers in my life and I am forever passing it on and on. Even though we read and hear so much evil about but still we must choose to believe that good still exist. I firmly believe that and I see it daily thru smiles, someone holding the door for me, someone passing on a compliment.

As the Lord put people on our minds we can quickly just send a quick text or even call to say Hello and wishing them a great day!

I am grateful to God for Bomi, I count you to be amongst those that the Lord has blessed me with. We’ve never met in person but we sure can text back and forth!

You are a true gem, I love you Sis

Went to the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA in 1981; my first time. As we were walking to the boulevard to stand with others on the sidewalk to watch the Parade, a lady and her husband stopped us and asked if we would like some seat tickets. They couldn’t stay; but never said why. There were 3 of us, and the couple gave us 4 tickets. We sat in the bleachers in front of the KTLA booth, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves without getting tired and shoved by a crowd. The 4th ticket I still have for a souvenier of that day.

cnt we show kindness to a stranger

    March 15, 2013 | 3:50 PM

Yes Temitope it’s great to show kindness to strangers. My parents have been such a wonderful example in this regard. I remember countless times my parents showed kindness to strangers when I was growing up. I remember this one man who would come by our neighborhood and church. He was a little “off”. I’m pretty sure he had mental problems so he often didn’t realize the gravity of what he was saying. For some strange reason he thought my mom was responsible for his upkeep lol. So he would say “my mattress has holes in it. What are you going to do about it, woman?” I’m hungry, what am I having for lunch today? etc etc. He wouldn’t ask nicely. He would *demand* to be fed. LOL. My mom never ever ever turned him away. Not once, to my knowledge. My mom would always arrange for a meal for him. My Dad too.. Goodness I have too many examples. God bless my wonderful parents. So sister Dawn I know what you mean about “how you were raised”. I pray the positive examples we have been shown will always guide us amen. I think about my mom and that man whenever I read the scripture “Give to whoever begs from you, do not turn them away” (Paraphrasing). God help us all to show kindness and love to everyone we come in contact with, Amen!!!
